What's so good?

I don’t think you’re ready for any 813 jelly, so sharing “Elastique” goes against my better judgment. It’s the kind of bass-infused dance track that turns Friday afternoon into Saturday night. The producer responsible for these good vibes is named Alexander Goryachev, but as you may have guessed, he goes by 813. He’s a 25-year-old Russian firefighter. Yep, you read that right — 813 is a firefighter and producer. Deal with it.

813 will release his Recolor EP later this month on Activia Benz, and “Elastique” is one wonky cut of that cloth. The EP is a blend of hip-hop, electronica, and dance. It’s experimental, which may throw off casual listeners. I liken it to Keyboard Kid’s The Transition EP from last year. Recolor has less of a techno edge to it, taking a more-rounded approach to rave music while still incorporating a lot of hip-hop.

The final product is, well, dope. Hope you like “Elastique” as much as I do. Oh, and big shout out to Will over at PIMB for the premiere.
