Well. I suppose we’ve mastered time travel, because in addition to the recent single released from Destiny’s Child and Justin Timberlake, there’s now a track from the late R&B queen Aaliyah. Srsly, guys, what year is it?
I’m sure many readers out there feel the same way I do, that a new Aaliyah track is a warm welcome, being raised on tunes from the side-bang beauty. Although “Quit Hatin’” doesn’t have quite the charm nor nostalgia as her real discography, it’s definitely a tribute to the artist… minus the *extremely* annoying (yet era appropriate) DJ shoutouts in the background.
Aaliyah’s estate released this tune in honor of the singer’s would-have-been 34th birthday. There’s Interweb chatter about a posthumous album, but official word has yet to been distributed.
