Rakim Mayers, popularly known as A$AP Rocky, is pretty much the most exciting thing going on in the hip-hop world right now. Working toward his first studio album to release this September, “Wassup” is an awesome single to tide us over for the interim.
With a sound bordering on pre-Kamikaze Twista meets Lil Wayne, Clams Casino has done some serious beat magic. A$AP’s metallic, smooth vocals partner perfectly with the smoky melody – something that I definitely can’t get enough of lately.
The official music video for this track is out as well, but don’t expect the same sophistication that the song itself boasts. A$AP definitely went the typical rap route with a bathtub of money, girls on girls, OE 40s, and even a tokan white chick. Check it out below.
