The Australia brother-sister duo Angus & Julia Stone are popularly known for their mellow and beautiful indie folk tunes. One of their more famous songs is “Big Jet Plane,” which topped a number of charts including #1 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2010 (Australia’s biggest indie radio station).
Enter Stern, who has turned this folk song into a whole new beast. With the addition of soft clap, a French house drumbeat and some good synth-work, he’s found a sound that actually meshes really well with the melancholy vocals and strings on the original. I’ve listened to it four times in a row now and I’m still not bored.
