What's so good?

Nico Nico Nico... it feels lately that all I've been hearing are tracks and remixes by the Brown student by way of NYC/Chile -- and I make that statement with gusto. Another EP last month, numerous remixes, and a collaboration called DARKSIDE makes me wonder how Nicolas Jaar makes any time for his schoolwork. Whatever the case, Jaar is undeniably building an awesome library, remixing artists such as Sneaky Sound System, Missy Elliot, The Blow, and now Architecture in Helsinki.

This remix of Architecture in Helsinki's "W.O.W" is certainly aligned with Nico's familiar style. It's experimental, eclectic, in your face, and mischievous. Piano bangs throughout with repetitive vocal snippets and some drums in the background. The best thing about Nico's music is that he has an opinion with all of his productions; there's a clear perspective and theme in his music which is hard to do. He's got an amazingly unique, workable style and doesn't go for the obvious remix. You may have guessed it, but I'm borderline stalker-obsessed with his musical aesthetic. Only borderline...
