Ava Luna is not a band who’s easy to define. That doesn’t mean they don’t ooze incredible energy and talent. They’ve got soul, funk, and tons of groove… and they’re bringing it all at full force.
I’ll start off with saying that it helps to be open-minded while listening to Ava Luna. They incorporate numerous different genres: doo wop, synth pop, funk, gospel, R&B and even a little punk. The female harmonies is a staple within their music, and it is exquisite along with some lead male vocals. Although this all may sound a bit overwhelming, their execution is timeless and sophisticated.
Ava Luna’s song structure may be something to get used to, but if you’re keen on off-kilter and obscure musical compositions, then Ava Luna may just be your new favorite band. They bring a unique freshness that sometimes gets lost in the mix of today’s underground music movement. Ava Luna has something different to offer if you’re willing to approach them with a blank slate.
