"Nantes"

What's so good?

My favorite part of the song “Nantes”? The French back-and-forth that comes into play around the two-minute mark. I’m not sure which film it’s from, but it’s clearly indicative of the influence that Zach Condon’s time in Paris had on his music.

The Flying Club Cup was the second album released by Balkan-folk band Beirut, following up their hugely successful Gulag Orchestra. Expectations were clearly high for the band to continue pushing the genre, and if you were to ask me, I’d say that their 2007 release delivered.

Enjoy the flashback!
