What's so good?

At first I didnt even realize what Ju Kovacevich had managed to do. His entire Born EP is a homespun reproduction of Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA, presented in such an ambient way it’s almost poetic. Ju Kovacevich records as Praything, bringing his traveled taste into production with his array of skill. As minimal as the sounds may be, theyre rich with emotion, possibly in his stripped vocals that could stir up even the most vacant of souls.

“Dancing In The Dark” via Praything is nothing in the like of the original. The only reason you can catch that it’s a remake is due to the lyrics. Ju’s song is riddled with tender heartbreak, the sound of a good post-cry singing. It begins with a simple hazed acoustic guitar that eventually eases into a orchestral backing with looped hymns of his own voice — bewitching.

I actually had the hardest time writing this review, since every time I played the song I’d end up sitting there smiling with my eyes closed. It;s a beauty, as are all of his musical endeavors.
