A clear indicator of my musical ignorance is that I’m not really familiar with Caetano Veloso. Apparently the Brazilian has been a core contributor to the genre of tropicalia since the early 70s, and in doing so has garnered some major respect.
Next month, Universal is planning to release a collaborative cover album titled A Tribute To Caetano Veloso, which will feature appearances by the likes of Devendra Banhart, The Magic Numbers and Beck, of course.
Speaking of Beck, I hope you’re enjoying this sneak peek of the first cover from the album, “Michelangelo Antonioni.”
