Californication, from Season 5, Episodes 3-7
TV Soundtrack

What's so good?

By | February 22nd, 2012

So, this season of Californication has been eventful, to say the least.

We’ve seen Hank return to the City of Angels for a new gig as a screenwriter, this time for Samurai Apocalypse (RZA), who has a strong penchant for hip hop, guns, and a beautiful woman named Kali. And of course, Hank happens to be sleeping with her behind his back.

Hank has to also deal with his daughter Becca’s new boyfriend, who never seems to go away, as well as Karen’s rocky marriage to her former college professor Bates, who has a drinking problem and an odd inclination to bring out his “mangina” in public places time and time again.

The Californication Season 5 soundtrack has a rather eclectic mix, staying true to its classic rock roots while managing to incorporate new genres like dub step, hip hop, and jazz.

There are still five more episodes of Hank Moody’s exploits left in the season, so stay tuned for more songs in the future!
