I love this track so much that I should not be allowed to review it.
“Mirror Maru” starts out innocently enough, with some pretty piano and a pattering of drums. But then it gets real.
This song is most certainly about a cat who who wakes up and decides, “Today WILL be beautiful.” He then grooves around a Japanese garden before dramatically running into some trap, which jumps out from behind a cherry blossom. They dance. They romance. A walk of shame happens. Then the whole day recycles itself because a good mistake is worth making twice.
I would like to personally thank Cashmere Cat for creating a the perfect soundtrack to my story. You can catch more of the Norwegian producer’s playful electro/hip-hop/pop on his debut EP Mirror Maru via Pelican Fly Records.
And don’t be surprised by the hearts all over his Facebook page.
