Cat Power

Cat Power has released a free download of a new single titled “Ruin,” slated to appear on a new album titled Sun, available via Matador on September 4th. This will be the first album we’ve heard from Chan Marshall since 2008′s highly successful Jukebox. Initial thoughts? “Ruin” is a wonderfully textured song with a pretty interesting chord progression. It’s not exactly the type of music that I’m going to rush home to dance around to, but I’m fairly certain this will find a very happy niche.
