What's so good? By Brontë Martin | Nov 24, 2012 | Total plays: 23,379
Chrome Sparks is the project of a young man named Jeremy Malvin. Originally from Pittsburgh, this 20-some-odd-year-old musician/producer now works between Brooklyn, NY and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Blending his background in percussion with his adoration for both synth and bass comes one of his newest offerings: "Marijuana."
Originally enjoying the DJ lifestyle (as he was one of the finalists in the Lollapalooza DJ competition), he grew as a musician and tied in his burning desire to return to his drumming. Touring with bands like Stepdad, Miniature Tigers and Rich Aucoin soon after, Malvin has now currently arrived at a small collection of pieces he can call his own. It all started with a simple Bandcamp release, and escalated from there.
"Marijuana" is entrancing in every way possible. Captivating his listeners with ease, this track (released about 4 months ago) brings sex appeal to a whole new level. We find ourselves immersed in something similar to static electricity, with a hint of fantasy to play with our minds. Harp, string, bass, guitar, synth -- you name it, it's in there.
The bedrock of Malvin's musical background has perpetuated something that has been deemed noteworthy. Enjoy.
