Coachella Comedown
Friday Five

What's so good?

By | April 27th, 2012

If you’re like me, and you went to Coachella during their second installment, you’re probably wandering around work in a drowsy haze with a blank stare and glazed over eyes. While you sit at your work station and reminisce over the weekend past, all of the fond and foul memories come flooding back to you with great reverie. The excruciating heat, the long nights, the chronic sweat, the uncontrollable dancing. It all burns so good as you wash away the weekend with a cold glass of water.

Frequent festivalgoers are aware that there are numerous things that can go wrong in this type of setting, so you mindfully prepare for the worst and hope for the best. That’s all well and good, but one thing that no one can ever prepare for is how hot it can actually get in that southern California desert. As soon as you start your day, you’re breaking a sweat… and as the hours roll by, delirium soon starts to kick in and there’s only one thing that can subside the crazy: the music.

Afterward, as you pack away your straw hats, throw away your broken sandals, and soothe your aching feet, something has to be said about this 106-degree Indio music festival. So, in spirit of my hangover-induced, whirlwind of a weekend, I give you five hypnotic tracks that make your 2012 Coachella comedown a bit more bearable.
