On a day full of new releases from fresh-faced acts and music blog heavyweights, it’s only appropriate that the song I dance the night away to comes from a random follower on SoundCloud who goes by the name Santa Claws.
His real name may or may not be Peter Klingelhofer and he may or may not live in New Orleans. What we do know is that he makes one heck of a catchy dance track. He remixes Corona’s 1993 hit “Rhythm of the Night” with all the finesse and technical skill of your favorite house producer. There’s great use of horns and brass, as well as light synth work. It’s pure, fun, electro-house.
As Peter says himself, “Santa Claws became interested in production the summer of 2011. He prefers to keep it real, not sweat the small stuff, and not take himself too seriously. He thinks you should probably do the same.”
