Manic electro-thrash duo Crystal Castles just uploaded a remix of their track "Leny" to their Soundcloud page this week by a mystery LA producer ADAT (given name Yosef Adatto). Googling this dude yields no results beyond his Soundcloud profile, so unfortunately I have no further info there.ADAT's "Leny" remix is a wall of sound. With a relentlessly harsh overtone, the remix is clearly aligned with the intensity that Crystal Castles is known for. Some formation of clarity comes through the muddled beginning about midway through the track, the glitchy voice samples climbing up and down atop of a basic yet stratified 4/4 beat. It's almost as if we are listening to a beautifully encrypted message, chaotic like the depths of an epileptic seizure.Is this remix indicative of more coming from CC? Potentially, but not a given.
