Sadly this awesome little Floating Points edit will probably never see the light of day, though it’s definitely worth checking out.
Previewed on a Gilles Peterson show, the track is a remix of jazz legend Curtis Amy’s “Katanga.” The track avoids the obvious pitfalls of a house-jazz sample, and creates something new and interesting while honouring the best points of the 1963 original.
