What's so good?

If by naming themselves Death In The Afternoon, the band was referring to the satisfying doom of a sunny, 80s film plotline, then I completely understand.  The Swedish electro pop quartet doesn't waste any time saving Marty McFly and the rest of the world.

"Fandango" exhilarates from the get-go, a fitting track for the dream sequence before a climax you know is coming. And it does. Around the 2:30 mark, arcade fire burns of new wave nostalgia. The past is suddenly here and now, while the vocals call out from a distant yet familiar future.

In this time of genre and decade blending, the band's music fits in quite nicely. You can check out their entire sophomore album, Kino, when it drops tomorrow November 30 via Two Seven Recordings. Visit DITA'S SoundCloud until then.
