"The Trouble with Candyhands"

Sounds like: Parov Stelar, Dirty Projectors

What's so good?

I remember watching Deerhoof from the sidestage at this year’s SXSW. Lead singer Satomi Matsuzaki may only be about 5ft tall, but holy crap did she have a lot of energy! To boot, the raw instrumental talent of each member was mind-boggling.

So, I’m not surprised that with their new track “The Trouble with Candyhands” they’re trying all sorts of new things. It sorta sounds like Latin-infused electro-swing (yes, there’s a lot of hyphenation there).

“The Trouble with Candyhands” comes off the band’s soon-to-be-released Breakup Song, slated for September 4th.

Tracklist:
1. Breakup Songs
2. There’s That Grin
3. Bad Kids to the Front
4. Zero Seconds Pause
5. Mothball the Fleet
6. Flower
7. To Fly or Not to Fly
8. The Trouble With Candyhands
9. We Do Parties
10. Mario’s Flaming Whiskers III
11. Fête d’Adieu

What do you think?
