Devendra Banhart is gearing up for studio album number eight, his first in four years. Clearly he’s slowed down a bit, but the result seems to be a slight progression of sound — at least from a production perspective.
Mala is slated for release March 12th via Nonesuch Records. “Never Seen Such Good Things” is the second single off the album, following up the much-harder-to-pronounce “Fur Hildegard Von Bingen.”
It’s simple, folksy, and quite easily approachable. I don’t think it’ll make him millions, but I’m a fan.
