Released on the album Badlands about a year ago, this hopelessly romantic track is fully equipped with lonesome, soulful croons and a David Lynch demeanor. "Lord Knows Best" meanders somewhere between sweet-toothed 60"²s doo-wop, experimental drone/noise pop and dungeon music, all with great affluence. It samples and re-imagines Françoise Hardy's Voila as a narcoleptic fever dream giving off a surreal sound that melds around an ominous mood. It's nostalgic, heartbreaking, and altogether cinematic.
