I find it mildly amusing that the bio for Everything Everything on last.fm describes them as a “pop band.” The write-up even goes so far as to compare them to Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Radiohead and R. Kelly. With the exception of Radiohead, that sounds a little absurd.
If you were to ask me, I’d say that Everything Everything’s creative and experimental style is probably best compared to Alt-J and Wild Beasts. Although when you hear “Duet,” I won’t blame you for thinking Coldplay might be involved.
The song comes as the third single off the band’s debut album Arc, which was released a couple weeks back. I don’t find it as catchy as “Cough Cough,” but I’ve listened to it two or three times now and thus deemed it worthy of a share :)
