Indie Shuffle favorites Flume find themselves in the cross-hairs of an amazing new remix. Whereas the original version popped and locked in a way that made it perfect for rolling through the streets, the Charles Murdoch version ‘”sizzles’” the rougher edges into sumptuous shakes and flutters.
It goes to show, much in the way his official Gravel Pit remix did, that you are just on Flume’s ride. Don’t try to steer it with your expectations and it’ll continue to be a joyride. (By the way, if there is anyone who is also unable to fight the urge to make air laser guns with your fingers during Gravel Pit, I’d love to meet you, you wondrous anomaly.)
The Charles Murdoch remix is perfect for that after-dinner delight back at the apartment, as it slinks and slides through its production in a way that can’t help but make you want to grab someone and sensually grind together. If 2012 saw the return of 1990s R&B bedroom seduction, I’m hoping this is the future for the New Year in that department. I mean, let’s admit it, this Flume track just shows how seductive the synthesizer can really be, amirite?
