What's so good?

In the past several weeks, I’ve been on the road a fair amount of time. Long weekend trips, work week commutes, errands or otherwise, I’ve been looking at the world through a dingy windshield recently. This sometimes-frustrating and sometimes-liberating fact inspired the theme of this Friday’s playlist.
The songs selected here have been the backdrop for many, many iron-horse excursions. From the cascading chimes in Teebs’ cut to the xylophone-driven beat on the Biggie joint, these songs have been the most adequate soundtrack to drives down California’s I-5 freeway or across the Bay Bridge to San Francisco. The smooth groove in Verocai’s production, the slow-building strings in the selection by The Cinematic Orchestra and the chopped guitar on Ta’Raach’s inclusion invite you to zone out behind the wheel.
