What's so good?

If you like high-tempo indie pop music, then Gold Fields will be right up your alley. Hailing from Ballarat (not far from Melbourne), the five-piece first caught our attention with the release of their debut EP last year. Their single “Treehouse” was especially well received, and the young band has already become known for their high energy live shows.

After touring the US this year – including support slots with Crystal Castles, Metric, and Crystal Fighters – they’re gearing up for the release of their first full-length album in January 2013.

Black Sun will include their brand new single “Dark Again.” The formula hasn’t changed from their earlier work, but who cares when it results in music like this? They’ve channeled all that’s good in Australian indie pop at the moment with “Dark Again”: a guitar and percussion driven synth anthem, complete with catchy vocal harmonies.

You can stream all their music on soundcloud, as well as a bunch of remixes of the likes of Passion Pit and Hunting Grounds.
