"19-2000 (Soulchild Remix)"

Sounds like: Damian Albarn, Blur, Ed Case

What's so good?

You may recall that Jason posted the Ed Case remix of “Clint Eastwood” a few weeks back. Unusually, that track was included on the Gorillaz eponymous debut album. The other remix to be featured was this one.

The similarities don’t end there, though. Both of the remixes pumped up the original – speeding it up, and giving it more of a dance floor flavor, as well as pulling the hooks out of the ooze of the Gorillaz dubby sound on their first album.

When Gorillaz was originally released, I was probably a bit too young to really pay attention to what was what, so I was pretty surprised to find that two of the best known tracks from the album are both in fact remixes! Since then however, the tables have turned, with Gorillaz original music dominating and not a remix to be seen.

What do you think?
