What's so good?

California's In The Valley Below has created an eerily somber track called "Hymnal" that may very well leave you with goosebumps.

The tale of what could have been with a love once lost is something I think most of us can relate to, and In the Valley Below expresses that feeling in an appropriately melancholy way. The memories that once were are continuously blurring, and it's easy to hear that longing within this song. It's gloomy yet twinkling with the gorgeous harmonies and orchestral aspect. "Do you know/I'll lay with you until I go" is probably the bleakest yet most precise lyric that pretty much sums up the entire song.

In The Valley Below may be under the radar for now, but their style sticks out, whacking the melancholy path into a genre they've coined "indie dusk."
