Indie Shuffle gets an overwhelming amount of submissions daily. We love helping out bands, but I won’t lie: we ignore 95% of it. Here’s how to get noticed (want something else? Skim to the end):
Step 1: Begin the subject with “New Music:” OR BE IGNORED — this will let us know who read this and who didn’t! Further, we apply a filter to our emails. Pretty much anything without this in the subject line won’t get listened to.
Step 2: Tell us about your music.
Step 3: Include an easy listening link — MySpace or Bandcamp preferred. Attached MP3s are fine as well. DO NOT INCLUDE MEDIAFIRE, YOUSENDIT, etc. We often are not in a position to download music onto computers. Bottom line is that it needs to stream.
Step 4: MOST IMPORTANT – We’d love it if you could tell us what you can do if we review your music. How many Twitter followers can you tell? Will you post a link on your Facebook? Will you email your fan list?
Got all those steps covered? Then here’s our email address.
advertising
Thanks for your interest in advertising your upcoming album on Indie Shuffle. With our readers viewing more than 200,000 pages every month, we’ve been able to earn thousands of dollars for artists. We do this using both standard and unique methods of advertising. Either way, we don’t just throw up ads like the others — we make things interactive for our readers, working to bring them to your doorstep.
legal
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (the “DMCA”) provides recourse for copyright owners who believe that material appearing on the Internet infringes their rights under U.S. copyright law. If you believe in good faith that materials we link to infringe your copyright, you (or your agent) can contact us requesting that we remove the links to the material. We’re not trying to start beef, we just like your music!
history
In September of 2008, an email went out to a group of friends that included some of the best new music found over a period of only two weeks (including Foals, Patrick Watson, Flamingo Crash). Twelve email-”editions” and about 50 bands later, this old website was up and running:
Since the old website, Indie Shuffle has come a long way. Today, we are happy to be able to bring you some of the best music we can find in a quick, clean, and enjoyable format.
