What's so good?

This week’s Friday Five focuses on the foundation of the hip-hop song: the production. Setting the mood and inspiring narratives, hip-hop production can be the most interesting thing about a song.
I’ve chosen five instrumentals pulling from a variety of artists; though not all are billed as instrumental hip-hop, they all pretty much function like it. So enjoy this variety pack of instrumental hip-hop with classic instrumentals from Black Moon, up-and-comers and veterans like Samiyam, House Shoes, and more.
Some new, some old, it’s a balanced blend of beats for a slow end of the week.
PS. This playlist might be nice if you’re playing poker. For more poker tips, check out this list of hip hop for poker.
