Twin Cabins is the project of Nacho Cano, who’s currently living in L.A.
“With Benefits” is next single he’s set to release. It’s a new direction for Twin Cabins; this song is more dream pop than shoegaze. We’re looking forward to a new album from him sometime later this year!
Nacho recently sat down with me via Google Plus Hangout. Here is what he had to say.
What is your musical background?
To be honest, an interest in listening to music lead to playing by ear. I stayed vigilant in learning music by ear. I listened to classical composer Erik Satie, I liked what he did, learned his by ear.
What are your influences; what artist inspired you?
I listened to Pavement in high school. I liked dream poppy stuff; Wild Nothing for his style and Destroyer lyrically.
Will there be any CD or vinyl releases of Twin Cabins’ music one day?
I dream of vinyl releases, yet that is difficult to do — I’d need a record label to pick me up. It would be cool to hold [a physical copy] as mine because it’s real, and has value to someone else.
Any tour dates planned for the future?
I have a touring band and fan base in L.A… it’s time to call venues to see if we could get in. I was inspired after seeing Wild Nothing have a full band, even though he records all his stuff by himself, like I do. Touring is big dream of mine!
