Back in early 2009, J.Period released “The [Abstract] Best,” a collection of Q-Tip’s music and production, including new remixes and a couple brand new tracks feating hip-hop heavyweights such as De La Soul. The mixtape also included original content by Busta Rhymes, ?uestlove, Black Thought, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Consequence, Zion I, Skillz, Black Sheep, Kid Cudi, and Blu. It was one hell of a lineup, unlike that featured on any mixtape in the past, and testament to the respect for J.Period’s work. Even more astounding, it was (and still is) available for free download. Follow the links, and you’ll find yourself grooving in no time.
