sounds like: K’Naan, Bob Dylan
What’s So Good?
Don’t you love it when two of your favorite genres collide? So do I. But to be quite honest, I was a bit nervous when I saw that K’Naan was covering the man, the myth, the legend. I imagined some terrible dance album that ruined the simplicity of the music.
Turns out, this mixtape only made me appreciate K’Naan more. I loved “Troubador” and “Dusty Foot Philosopher”, and I always enjoy K’Naan’s humble and philisophic view towards his art. Not sure how much of this is J. Period’s work, but the vibe is great.
I really appreciate K’Naan and J.Period taking the time to honor Mr. Dylan on this mixtape, as well as Mr. Marley and Mr. Kuti in his other two installments.
This mixtape shows that K’Naan might be the best emcee out there, and that maybe Dylan & K’Naan should hook up for a song. In a post awhile back on here I said that Nas & Dylan need to do a song. Maybe I picked the wrong rapper.
Overall I throw the entire ‘Messengers’ mixtape series into the ring for mixtape of the year. Not only is this great for listening, but it also serves as a great history lesson for those that are somewhat unaware of what Kuti, Marley, and Dylan are all about – the urbanian

this is really great. k’naan is really a refreshing sound in an increasingly over the top mainstream hip hop scene. it blends really well with Dylan too

Though not a great hip hop fan I always have an interest in things Bob Dylan. I very much enjoyed the mix of this song. Worth the listen. Thanks.
