It’s always interesting when an artist from one of my favorite genres has a go at producing another — for instance, the idea of Jamie xx trying out instrumental hip hop sounds fantastic to me. So, it is with real interest that I looked into a project that involved a well known indie figure playing around with garage music; arguably Jamie xx’s raison d’etre, but the more the merrier is what I say! Let me introduce you to your new favorite indiestepper, Jack Steadman (of Bombay Bicycle Club fame).
Even better, as I was researching this project, it got even more awesome. He does hip hop too, with “Gold Tooth,” a remix of Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.,” which you can catch as our bonus.
Jack Steadman is definitely a name to keep on your radar. There isn’t a whole lot out there about this project at the moment, but I can guarantee it’ll be taking off pretty big shortly — with the rise of Jamie xx, here’s the next in line.
