Josh and Mer

Mind Control

Sounds like: Rilo Kiley, Metric, The New Pornographers
A few days ago, I wrote a track review on Josh and Mer's sweet little song, "From The Sea." Now I'm reporting back with another teaser in the form of their newest single, "Mind Control."This track is quite opposite from "From The Sea" but in a great way. It's obvious that Josh and Mer are exploring the boundaries (or lack thereof) of this dreamy, euphoric indie pop genre that they've got such an impressive grasp on. "Mind Control" starts off with a haunting organ and soon thereafter, Josh and Mer's hypnotizing harmonies. Before you know it, there's a heart pounding beat, sleek guitar effects, and many different synth effects all combined to project a creepy and slightly sexualized vibe. This song teeters on the edge of insanity and peace of mind.If you're enjoying the tracks that Josh and Mer have released so far, stay tuned for the release of their full length LP, Planet Music, set to drop on February 14. Yours truly will be writing a review for them and I think you will all be pleasantly impressed by this duo's undeniable talent.
