I'm guessing the vast majority of you have come across Kavinsky's "Nightcall" from the popular movie Drive, but you've probably never heard it quite like Alice Jemima's interpretation. I'm quite a big fan of the young Brit; she just has one of those swooning voices that will win you over an instant, and it came to me as little surprise when I read of this ambitious cover.Alice does what Alice does best, she strips everything down to its bare minimum, which reveals the true beauty of Kavinsky's once synth-y and distorted masterpiece. Her vocals are as delicate and heartfelt as always, sitting on top of a dense and ambient guitar which immediately sets the mood.I couldn't imagine a better individual to cover this song, and I can't wait to hear more from Alice Jemima this year!
