Philadelphia’s Knxwledge has been putting out so much music over the last year it’s been pretty hard to keep up! Although I no longer download every release of his, I still try and listen to what I can. That’s how I came across the recently release HexualSealings.EP.1.5 — his third release of the month!
My favorite track is the excellent “SeentYew,” which at 3:14 is one of the longest tracks on the album. It’s hard to categorize this song; there’s a vocal sample — my R&B’s not good enough to properly identify it but I’d hazard a guess at Erykah Badu — set against a sultry, bassy tune with hip-hop drums. The track feels like it belongs in a smokey room late at night; it just has that hazy sound.
I’d go as far as commending “SeentYew” as Knx’s best track yet. It’s certainly the one that’s spent the most time in my head!
