What's so good?

L-Vis 1990, aka James Conolly,  was among the first few artists I reviewed for Indie Shuffle. I try to keep tabs on all the artists I plug, but sometimes a few slip under my radar.

Maybe it was because Conolly's recent album, Neon Dreams, didn't receive great reviews, and the tracks just didn't filter around that much. Released via Night Slugs, a label known for being genre unspecific, Neon Dreams put off many well known blogs because the album was just way, way too unspecific. No one complained when Para One wrote a similarly random album, so what was the deal?

The difference had nothing to do with being random, but everything to do with being cohesive, which Neon Dreams was not. However, two definite themes seemed to prevail throughout. Had Conolly separated the 15 track album into two albums, I think it would have done a little bit better.

Nevertheless, the first single off the album, "Lost In Love," is  still great as a standalone track and worth a spot here on Indie Shuffle.
