Lace Curtains

Bedroom Honesty

Sounds like: Harlem, Fresh and Onlys, The Black Lips
Lace Curtains is Michael Coomer's newest side project. Coomers is normally a part of the jangly pop-band Harlem, who are known for their hook-laden, carefree attitude. It has that same type of appeal, but is a little more earnest and soft. It's a little tongue-in-cheek with sentimentality as well, but some of these songs benefit from this and are just plain catchy. This tune, "Bedroom Honesty," shines with its garage pop sound, especially as Coomers sings out, "I'm trying to sleep / Why don't you / Leave me alone ... Just a version of bedroom honesty / I've heard it before." Boom. Coomers hits hard when it comes to emotion. Check out the rest of this album for some more of his hits.
