Back in December, San Francisco natives Silver Swans covered the famed Lana Del Rey track, taking it to darker territory with brooding vulnerability. A tad bit icier than the original, this version of “Video Games” conjures up a electro-laden, ethereal sound with Ann Yu on vocals and Jon Waters on sampling, guitar, and keys.
An immediate Internet sensation, the original track sprawled across the web, and with the anticipation of Del Rey’s upcoming album, I’d have to say that this Silver Swans cover is the perfect appetizer of what we can expect musically in 2012.
