When Little Dragon’s Ritual Union was released back in July of this year, it was a huge hit both in the USA and worldwide. It was the second release by the band in just under two years, though my perception of events was quite different. That’s because the former, Machine Dreams, had actually taken a little time to pick up steam, creating the illusion (for me, at least) that they had basically released back-to-back albums in less than a year.
For a band that has been around since 1996, it’s quite impressive that they kept at it before hitting the spotlight a decade into the 21st century. Die hard fans may argue they’ve been on the radar for ages — but they weren’t on mine until 2010, and I imagine a similar experience was shared by many.
And, as comes with the spotlight, there are now more than a dozen remixes of their tracks. This is one of the newest — and quite good at that.
