What's so good?

Beach Day is an indie pop/surf rock band from Hollywood, Florida. They’ve been touring a lot since release of their first 7″ release, Beach Day, on Kanine Records (they recently signed with them back in April). I have seen them twice before — on accident — at two other events in Fort Lauderdale.

The band consists of Kimmy, Sklar, and Nat (they all hail from Hollywood) as well as new member Chris (who’s from Orlando). True to their name, Beach Day sing about enjoying the sun and sand of South Florida. Basically, they sound like a 60s girl band mixed with The Beach Boys. With this review, I’m featuring their latest single “Walking On The Streets,” which is a great surf rock song with a bouncy  retro vibe.

Performing at IWAN the Bubble, Beach Day played a solid set featuring songs from two 7″s and a few songs I’d never heard of… but I was bouncing to all of it! After the show, I talked to Kimmy about vinyls and their music. They are all pretty chill people, and if you’re living in Florida you’re in luck because they’re touring this December and January. Check out the dates here.

If you want more info about the Beach Day, follow them on Twitter and/or send them a shout out on Facebook.
