Most of you are aware that M83 have been at it for quite some time now. That said, they didn’t “blow up” until their sixth studio album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming was released in 2011.
Today we’re flashing back to 2008, when the band unleashed Saturdays = Youth to the world. The album was their most successful to date, managing to peak at #107 in US charts (a far cry from their more-recent #15).
There was no “Midnight City” on the album, but one track by the title “Graveyard Girl” actually managed to stand out a bit from the crowd, receiving praise from the likes of SPIN and Slant Magazine.
If you haven’t heard this, hopefully you enjoy being exposed to some of the band’s less-popular work. And if you have heard it, I’m sure you appreciate having it pop up again :)
