What's so good?

Manor includes two members of one of my favorite Australian bands, the brilliant Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire! Nathaniel Morse and Caitlin Duff formed their off-shoot in 2011, and released their first single "Rhodesia" in November. Now based in Melbourne (their band is originally from Adelaide), their second single "Afghan Hound" has just come out, and it's excellent.

The track draws you in immediately with the steady drum beat, before slipping into a myriad of eerie tangled guitar and synth streams - comparisons to Warpaint are clear. It's got a romantically tragic feel to it, aided superbly by Duff's gorgeous, haunting tones.

Given their affiliation with Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!, they were always going to be good, I'm just surprised (and delighted) at how good.
