One of the hottest female vocalists in the indie pop world is back at it. The Welsh-born Marina Diamandis, better known by her stage name Marina & The Diamonds, just released this latest track “Starring Role.” It’s borderline pop, but I think that the real redemptive qualities are in the verse — a bit of minimal electronica for your ears.
We can only assume that “Starring Role” comes off her upcoming album Electra Heart, set to be released some time in Spring of 2012. If it’s an indication of what’s to come, I imagine Marina is pushing to top the pop charts a la Adele. Whether that’ll happen remains to be seen.
