If you’re not excited now then I think you will be soon. Why, you ask? Because Mesita’s new album, The Coyote, will be released on April 3, and it’s really fucking good.
As always, Mesita’s ambitious creations are never lackluster or stripped of energy. There’s so much creativity flowing through each song that this album, to me at least, is the perfect quenchable recipe to a thirst for some bright and luscious music. This album sparkles with layers of twinkling electronic effects, intricately stacked guitars, fast and flowing tempos, and passionate vocals.
This is the type of album that can appeal to many different demographics and you don’t necessarily need to have a niche for Mesita’s style; its draw comes from James Cooley’s unique approach to make attractive yet artistically beautiful and experimental indie rock music. This guy is going places… bravo!
After a few listens, you’ll probably find yourself waiting impatiently for The Coyote’s April 3 release. If that’s the case, head over to Mesita’s Bandcamp to listen to the album or preorder it.
