One of the artists gracing just about everyone’s best-of-2011 lists is Metronomy. In particular, the song “The Bay” has been flagged as a standout. So when I realized that we hadn’t showcased this gem on Indie Shuffle, it was a bit of a no-brainer to pull this post together.
The UK-based electro-pop quartet, founded in 1999, has been spinning records for some time now. Their latest release The English Riviera was arguably their strongest to date, nominated for the 2011 Mercury Prize and reaching #2 on NME’s best of 2011 album chart. Essentially, we’re going to have to agree with what the others say: this album deserves your attention.
