Sounds like: Braids, Oh Land, Purity Ring

What's so good?

By | January 21st, 2013

“Why does everyone have to grow old? All the good times gone.” Oy, do I feel those words intimately lately. It’s an odd venture being an ardently committed wild child in your late 20s. Especially as everyone else starts to settle down and slide into that slow death contained inside the human soul imprint on their barcalounger.

But I lust for life. Or, as MØ would put it, I let my “horny soul have some private time” with the joys of obstacles and goals alike and “if [I'm] in love underneath the pain, well, what a pleasant sensation.” Unabashed lust is a double-edged sword.  I’ve recently  learned that it’s an American thing to cordon off ‘horniness/lust’ only into the sexual realm. In Germanic cultures, like where MO is from, and Southeast Asia, it can mean looking at life with a ‘cool or exciting eye.’

This song perfectly captures that complex concept and gives it so many layers that you’ll need more than one listen to discover them all.  Featuring production that’s like a rich cross between Braids and Oh, Land, Danish wünderkind MØ continues to show why she is one of 2013′s Artists to Watch.
