Watching soccer players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo do their thing on the field is truly a thing of beauty. Playing soccer like them is a fantasy come true, and EA Sports supplies the perfect game to do so with their newest release, FIFA 13.

Filled with crazy realistic graphics, an improved game engine, and, of course, Ultimate Team mode, FIFA 13 has enough going on to keep even the most extreme soccer head busy.  Some noted tweaks to the game include the addition of a more realistic dribbling experience, as the player can actually control the dribbling instead of it being mainly automated.  There’s also more emphasis on possession; more realism and skill have been added to how a player controls (or loses control) of the ball. Another awesome addition has been the team and player form, where what is going on in the world of professional soccer effects player and team ratings on the game (that is, unless your team is having a lousy year).

As for the soundtrack, with soccer being the global game that it is, EA Sports made certain that it would have a global soundtrack. Artists from the UK like Bloc Party and Django Django, New Zealander Kimbra, Spain’s Crystal Fighters, and American artists like Santigold and Deadmau5 trule make FIFA 13 a global affair. The music really serves as the perfect backdrop as you manage your favorite team through Ultimate Team mode, or simply show off your ball skills playing head-to-head with a friend.  The songs on this year’s version of the game have truly been one of the best, with a wide variety of music bringing music snobs, soccer fans, and gamers together in one awesome experience.

So before you digitally simulate the beautiful game, check out some of the musical highlights off the FIFA 13 soundtrack below. Who knows, you just might become a better soccer player.

Here’s some rather rare electronic for you. The beginning definitely sounds more like club techno, but as it continues, it sounds like a progressive house take on synth-pop. Great pick up around 1:14, super upbeat. You get maximum enjoyment out of some minimal sound.

One of the last times we covered Gui was a Massive Attack remix back in February 2010, where we quoted dailybeatz as calling it “full of intensity without being in your face all the time.” That’s probably the best description you’ll get of Gui Boratto. Music that’s understatedly epic.

And so is Gui. The Brazilian producer hasn’t put out much since 2012, but that’s got to be because he’s busy wearing one of his other hats — like running A&R for Megamusic or working with a major artist like Manu Chao. The guy’s also had a career in advertising and is a trained architect. What’d I say? Understatedly epic.

You know, I love that this track is called “Haute Couture.” Imagining some high-quality, expensive fabric being sewn by a master dressmaker with extreme attention to detail fits the bill for these little beats that turn out big noise. You can listen to more excellent Gui Boratto music on Myspace or stay on top of his output on his homepage. More epic mixes hopefully on the way…

How To Destroy Angels is a pretty serious name for a band. And appropriately, Deadmau5 has produced a pretty serious remix for them.

Fronted by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and his wife Mariqueen Maandig, “Ice Age” was released on the band’s 2012 EP An Omen.

The remix sees Deadmau5 replace the folksy acoustically driven sounds of the original with his standard bleeps and bloops. The net result is ever-so-slightly darker, and certainly peachy for the electronic community to digest.

Myndset is no stranger to Indie Shuffle. The L.A.-based producer first appeared on our radar back in 2010 with a mashup of Miike Snow and Swedish House Mafia. Fast forward to 2012, and Myndset is still doing his thing — namely dropping hot mixtapes, playing live shows all over the globe, and taking things to the next level.

On Monday, Myndset released his first official original mix. It’s a polished piece of progressive house titled “25th Hour” that features vocals from a cool cat named Jason Caesar. I had originally heard a demo of the track back in February, but listening to the finished product on some quality headphones has me feeling good. I’ve been off dance music for a while now, but that doesn’t seem to matter much when I play this song.

“25th Hour” is on Beatport and Hype Machine if you feel so inclined as to support it with your hearts and dead presidents.

Be on the lookout for more from Myndset. I have a feeling he’s just getting warmed up.

Frankly, this is a pretty generic track courtesy of Joel Zimmerman. The only particularly notable aspect is that he reportedly produced it while on a live stream for fans.

Actually, “There Might Be Coffee” sounds like it might be part of some fantastical video game epic. All sorts of upbeat synthwork and the likes.

Bottom line is that I figure some of you will like it, others will be bored as shit. Either way, figured it’s still worth sharing!

Frankly, this is a pretty generic track courtesy of Joel Zimmerman. The only particularly notable aspect is that he reportedly produced it while on a live stream for fans.

Actually, “There Might Be Coffee” sounds like it might be part of some fantastical video game epic. All sorts of upbeat synthwork and the likes.

Bottom line is that I figure some of you will like it, others will be bored as shit. Either way, figured it’s still worth sharing!

Thanks to the blog Chubby Beavers, Russian trance producer Arty is crossing our radar for the first time. While this is by no means his first single, “Open Space” quickly caught my attention as a really impressive track for a 22-year-old.

Technically categorized as trance, it looks like Arty is already capturing the attention of many major house DJs, including Swedish house Mafia, Armin Van Buuren, and everyone’s least favorite, David Guetta.

So, I’ll just go ahead and be that person to admit I strongly dislike Deadmau5. I’ve heard his songs, I’ve seen him live; it’s not a feeling that originates from ignorance. Outkast on the other hand, I’m an avid fan. They’ve got talent and soul, something (in my opinion) Deadmau5 lacks.

But for the sake of this track’s needed exposure, I’ve put aside my differences with Deadmau5, because this song is freaking awesome. DJ Ellipsis must be cupid in disguise or something, because the combination of “B.O.B.” and “Ghosts N Stuff” is truly a match made in heaven. The songs flow together effortlessly — granted “B.O.B.” is slowed down a bit — but overall this mashup transcends both originals and creates a whole new sensation. The intensity of Outkast woven into the beats of Deadmau5 makes”Ghosts N Stuff” no longer boring and lacking substance and gives “B.O.B.” a new exhilarating vibe.

It’s a great “take one the weekend” kind of number, whether you’re at home getting ready or already hit the road, you’ll want this song blasting.

It’s getting harder and harder to find good mash-ups these days. With modern technology, anyone can loop and layer one song over another. DJ Ellipsis proves to be one of the talented mixers, with some secret formula up his sleeve for concocting amazing blends of songs that actually work. He’s broken the barriers of the genres and combined the likes of AC/DC with Avicii and Journey, or Deadmau5 and Coldplay, even Katy Perry and Queen with a hint of Gary Jules. Personally, many of those artists I don’t care for on their own, but thanks to his ingenious creations I’ve found a way to appreciate and enjoy them.

With a visionary mind like his, it’s a shame he’s not headlining festivals, but heres to hoping he’ll blow up out of the San Francisco Bay soon.

Based on Ray Bradbury’s epic 1950 short-story “The Veldt,” the track was originally an instrumental by Joel Zimmerman. That was until Chris James sent him a vocal edit over the track.

Upon hearing the remake, Deadmau5 took to his Tumblr to share it with the world. Alas, all we heard was a 1 minute clip!

Yesterday, that all changed, as this 8:41 version found its way to the masses. You  may agree…this is a seriously awesome track!

A little over a month ago, we gave you a 1 minute preview of Chris James’ amazing vocal edit for the Deadmau5 track “The Veldt.”

It’s not like you can stray too far with a Deadmau5 remix. The man’s a master in and of his own right, so to “ruin” one of his songs must be pretty hard.

Full of womp, womp, wobble, Redial’s remix retains a number of the song’s core elements, ensuring that those familiar with Deadmau5′s work are not left alienated. The remix is certainly not better than the original, but it deserve some attention.

I continue to be a sucker for Deadmau5 — and pretty much any of his remixed works. This dubstep/chillstep rendition by Mr. FijiWiji was pointed out by our Sunday Night Chill contributor Kyle Suss.

The song starts off nice and slow, building up into a massive 5+ minute escapade through the electronic bliss that is Deadmau5. It’s nowhere good as the original, but definitely merits sharing.
