Naytronix is headed by Nate Brenner, also one half of the famed group tUnE-yArDs. According to the label, Naytronix is “an evil dance band cloned from the stem cells of multi-instrumentalist/producer Nate Brenner. His songwriting style is deeply rooted in the traditions of the future, which few alive today know anything about. And while the compositions are geared towards the sinister post-apocalyptic dance colonies that are on the verge of sprouting up around the world, an undeniably timeless funk is woven into the Naytronix hit machine.”
Leading with a mean bass line, this cover of one of Janet Jackson’s most popular hits also adds a bit of blue-eyed soul to the mix. This makes for a bit more of a coy version of the originally brazen interrogative track, but still very much makes for a good time. With summertime all but here, this is finding release at a great time.
