My music taste, I have to admit, is very seasonal. What I tend listen to in the summer is completely different to what I tend to listen to in the winter. With that said, it seems like an appropriate time to wheel out this old beauty.
Those of you who can still remember 2003 (I can, just barely…) might remember this track from Felix Da Housecat, who gave the Nina Simone classic a summer makeover, with sunny pianos and a funky bassline.
Fast forward 3 years to 2006 and you’ll find this track once again, making up part of the Miami Vice soundtrack. However, in the years since then, it’s somewhat faded away. So now, in high summer, it’s time to once bring back this undisputed house classic!
